We are using Safariland 6004 holsters for your Smith M&P .45s w/ Surefire x300 lights. This is a great holster, I've been using this model for the last 10+ years. The problem I noticed with our current gun/ light setup is that because Safariland made the holster to fit a couple different lights the gun sits a little bit loose and makes a lot of noise when running.

Anyone have this problem or any suggestions for silencing the holster? I was thinking of lining the inside of the holster with moleskin.

I switched from a full size 1911 w/light back to a G22 w/light and kept the same 6004 holster. I attached a base pad for a 1911 magazine on the inside of the holster so it would make contact with the light and firm things up. Worked great for the interim until I could get a proper holster. Base pad looked like this:

Not sure if this would work for your application, may need to trim the thickness but it's an option anyhow.

Great ideas fellas, thanks a bunch. Phylodog, Did you secure the 1911 base pad by drilling holes through the holster and inserting screws from the outside? I may try this first and if that doesn't work try my luck with a heat gun.

I've been meaning to pick up a heat gun anyways, I'm thinking of making my own concealed kydex holster similar to Raven Concealment's. Not sure if you guys are familiar with them, their holsters rock, unfortunately they are backed up at least 12 weeks.

Thanks for the link to Kaluban. I had never heard of them. I'm not sure what their production time is, but if it is reasonable I will defiantly give them my business.

Yep, just drilled two small holes through the kydex and put the screws through the holes and into the base pad.
