I'm looking to upgrade my Hogue stock on my SPS-T and I have a local that is willing to sell his HS precision to me for $150. Is that a good deal? I was considering getting a B&C, choate or a similar bargin stock to upgrade, but this offer just came up.

Thoughts? Price too high? Good? Can I do better on a similar priced stock of another brand?

buy it buy it now!! retail on a new one is 300 ish
i have been told that the 5r and ltr stocks have a slightly shorter fore end and are lighter that the stocks that come
on the 700 p rifles they feel nice and balance well if you
decide its not what you want buy it now and sell on gun broker for 225.00

The HS is an excellent stock. Sleek and narrow and not too overbearing if you plan to hunt with it. It is not an A5 but costs a lot less. A buck fifty is a very good price.

That's a good deal. IMO the H-S Precision stocks are made better than the B&C and the Choate.

The problem that I had with my H-S stock on my 5R when I got it was that it never really fit me well. YMMV.

that was the other point i couldnt think of at the time the
stocks dont really seem fit very well for anyone over 5'10"
and the recoil pads are glued in and are a bitch to replace with
    a grind to fit.
