Re: Thoughts on Vortex 6.5-20 Viper

Vortex Viper 6.5-20 is an excellent scope for the money. Tracking is dead accurate and the knobs reset to zero so easily. The difference in the two links is one is a 50mm objective and the other is a 44mm objective. The mildot reticle ranges at 14X, if I recall. Vortex CS is second to none.

Re: Thoughts on Vortex 6.5-20 Viper

Just want to make sure I am getting a quality scope. I am done with the so called low end scopes and i would consider this Vortex mid range. I know its no Nightforce but it should be better than what i have now. Eye relief seems a little concerning.

I think for the money...they are a great scope. Right at the top with any other manufacturer in their price point and slightly above. I've got the 50mm version on one of my AR's and have been extremely pleased.

I agree...it wouldn't be fair to compare it to a NF...even though its glass is really decent. Pretty tough to compare a $500 scope to one that costs 3X or more.

Re: Thoughts on Vortex 6.5-20 Viper

I have two of the camera land scopes and I think they great. They hold zero, track well, and the glass is clear enough to be useful. They get a little dim at 17X and above but below that they are very clear and bright.

I have two 6.5-20x44, one 6.5-20x50, and two 2-7x Vipers along with a 6.5-24x50 PST. The Viper line of scope is an excellent optic at a great price point. The deal that Cameraland NY is offering them for is litterally a steal! Which is why I bought two last time they offered it.
