Hey, Guys !!!

Got a question for the more advanced shooters, I guess.

When doing your scope qualification, do you ever go beyond the initial zero point and come back to it so that you are making sure that you are adjusting from the same faces of the internal threads?

In very precise gauging applications, the gauge being used, if it is based on any sort of mechanical movement is always used in a specific manner to assure that no "lead screw" error has been encountered.

Similar to using a lathe or milling machine.

Since the erector tube that is being moved by the adjustment threads is spring-loaded, a properly designed and executed mechanism should not exhibit any relevant backlash.

My shooting partner always goes past,then back...
I do a slight wiggle to make sure I am in the center of the detent, more habit than anything....
I would think as long as you are consistent in what you do, that would be all that matters.....
