I'm in the market for a threaded muzzle brake. Something good like Vais or Holland etc. I have a couple questions though..

1) I have a crowned muzzle on a heavy bbl. Will they cut that off?

2) What if you don't like it or it actually decreases accuracy? Then you have to take it off and have this crappy looking weird barrel from the gunsmithing?

Re: Threaded Muzzle Brake ?'s

they will thread your barrel essentially leaving the crown on there and just threading the brake over it. If you are worried about accuracy decreasing send it to a reputable smith. Or go with the Badger FTE that can be removed and have a thread protector made and sent with the barrel as well, take the brake off thread protector on, and if you get a can down the road your barrel is already threaded

Re: Threaded Muzzle Brake ?'s

Yeah the Badger FTE is pretty nice. My barrel OD is .820". I'm interested in a straight brake, not tapered. If I get a threaded brake, is there a certain size and thread type I should look for, or is there just a most common one? Also, about how much does the install cost?
