Gunsmithing threading for suppressor

I am getting ready to have a bbl chambered up in 308 and want to thread the barrel for my suppressor (when it finally comes in). Even though the barrel was contoured off centers would it still not be a good idea to go ahead and buy a "rod" off PTG and true up off it and not the OD of the bbl? krw

Yes, you always want to indicate off the bore to thread for a suppressor. If someone is chambering your barrel they will have a rod or dti to indicate your muzzle end.

I use two indicators on a rod when I am dialing in a barrel. One is right at the muzzle and the other is as far outboard from the muzzle as possible. That way I am positive the threads are not only concentric but axially aligned as well.
