I just picked up a Kimber 22 conversion from a guy for $100 with 4 mags, didnt really want it that bad, but for that price I couldnt pass it up.

My issue with it is no threaded barrel, so I aim to fix that tomorrow.

I just wanted to get some opinions before I dive into it and maybe miss something that will bite me.

The muzzle measures 0.578 OD, so it will probably be a tad small to do 1/2 for the adapter. 7/16 sounds like a good size then. Once the adapter is on, turn it down to the same diameter as the barrel.

I just need to decide what diameter to make the extension, and how far away from the bushing the shoulder should be. Also how far to go with the threads onto the muzzle, I assume I want the junction to be in the bushing not behind it?

Well, I figured it out. Ended up threading the bbl 7/16-28, left the extension about .001" larger than the barrel and chamfered the end to tighten it up a bit inside the bushing.

The federal bulk pack runs great in it, its not quite as reliable as my Rugers, but not far off, better than a lot of 22 semi's. Fired probably 200 rounds today, not one of them was supersonic!

Its a perfect fit on my Tactical Custom, the aluminum slide on the aluminum frame makes for a superlight package, will be even better when I get my TBAC 22L1.
