I am going to be purchasing a Thunderbeast suppressor. I am looking at the 30p-1 and the new 30cb9. My question is...Has anyone had any issues with the direct thread messing up the crown of the barrel? I will be shooting this suppressor on a 308 and 6.5cm, so it will be swapped to whatever gun I take to the range. My concern is the constant on\off messing up the crown thus affecting accuracy.

Thunderbeast 30p-1 question

The suppressor seats on the shoulder of the threads...not the crown. If the barrel is threaded properly it should never touch the crown. Just be sure your barrel is threaded according to the specs listed on thunderbeast site.

To the OP - why not consider the brake attach model? I bought a TBAC BA-1 about 1-1/2yrs ago, and got four brake/mounts to go with it for two DTA bbls, and two M700-based comp rifles. Not only are the bbl threads not a concern with frequent swapping of the can, but the brake's front plate acts as a sacrificial baffle, which saves considerable wear on the can's rearmost baffle. So much for theory - what about accuracy, you say? The BA-1 had absolutely no negative effect on accuracy on any of these four bbls, and made a measurable improvement in accuracy on one.

I'm seriously considering the braked version. Just for the reasons you mentioned. It will be running in a 308,6.5cm and my ar.
