Just got my tax stamp back on a Ti-RANT .45 can. I sent the Form 4 in around the second week of March and got the stamp on 06/24 - pretty good really.
I had always wanted a .45 can, but every one I had ever heard was LOUD!. As I understand it, the KAC can was hearing safe dry but they're so expensive and hard to get that I figured it was out of the question. I had heard the old AAC Tactical, B&T Swiss, and an AWC (forget the model) and in my opinion they all sucked when dry. AAC used to have another model for 1911s but I forget the name. It was better than the others, but only marginally so. Wet was a different story with all of these, but really they were all pretty loud and only barely acceptable when wet.
I bought a threaded G21 barrel and thread protector from Lone Wolf. The can is really quiet dry - no pain at all - no ringing ears. It really is hearing safe dry. But wet - it's crazy quiet. This is truly the most spectacular .45 can I've ever heard. It is easily as quiet as any wet or dry 9mm can I've ever heard. And that's really saying something for a .45 can! SPECTACULAR!
