Gunsmithing Tighten Muzzle Brakes and more?

Probably depends what brake you're running, but I just do hand tight with my Insite Heathen with a tiny drop of oil on the threads. I'll check it periodically throughout a match to ensure it hasn't loosened off but I've never had an issue.

If you have a brake without flats stuff a tight fit wood or plastic dowel into the ports and use that. The self timing Beast brake I have has fairly thick walls and if yours does as well it will hold a reasonable amount of torque. If it’s cut to the point where there isn’t a lot of support then be gentle so you don’t warp it. Ideally you want it just tight enough to stay on the gun, no more no less.
