Tikka CTR w KRG Bravo/Sphur/Nightforce ATACR?!?!?

Hello. I’m taking a Nightforce ATACR 4-16x42 on a Spuhr 4616 (20 MOA, 1.5” w/ cantilever) off of my AR10. I’m wondering if that same Spuhr mount will work with a Tikka CTR mounted in a KRG chassis? Will the mount be too high? Will the cantilever throw things off? If anyone has some solid experience or insight in the matter, I’d love to hear it. Thanks!

The Spuhr mount at 1.5" for a 42mm objective lens is a bit high, but should be usable. I would try it. The cantilever might be a deal killer. The Spuhr mount is a pretty big investment, so I would try to make it work. If you were to pick a mount over again, I would recommend something much lower, as you have "real estate" over the barrel, so you can probably hit 1.15" or so, and probably rings. Did I miss the caliber? The only reason to look at a mount is if you need the 20 MOA bias. I am assuming there is no cant on the Tikka CTR?

I believe you share my same desires and concerns.

I'm leaning towards .308 since I already have a bunch of ammo, but I may switch to 6.5 CM. And you're correct, the Tikka MOA on the rail.

If it is a .308, do you think I could get by with Spuhr's 0 MOA, 1.181 high, no cantilever mount? I believe that SP-4001

It will not be too high. You’ll be fine with the adj cheek. Cantilever however will be really odd
I find that 1.5” is about ideal on our KRG Whiskeys. I had the 34mm (I think) and found they were too low when I put on the thicker cheek piece. Used to be that low was ideal. iMO is much less of an issue now with all the stock adjustability.

Sounds good. What disadvantages might there be? I should be able to zero at 100, plug in scope height over bore in ballistic calc, and then confirm with shots on target?

Plug the height in and it’s no different than anything else.

The disadvantage comes when you have to slide your face so far forward relative to the rifles build with a cantilever that in order to get into the scopes eye box that your neck is likely to be stretched out like Sadam Husseins on new years 2007.

I had to google the date but he got hanged for his execution. Your neck is going to be over extending itself and not very comfy potentially.

how did the Spuhr work out in the CTR? I am also trying to find the right option for use with the factory non-rising stock.

I didn’t end up doing it, but KRG announced a Tikka specific stock. Looks great. Echo is what they call it.
