Any reason not the make the tool engage the full length of the bolt rails? Looks like the ones available only engage the surfaces in front of the ejection port.

Probably unnecessary, but to my thinking engaging the full length would cause less stress on the action.

Plan on doing my own out of some 1" cold rolled. Just going to put a hole in the end for a cheater bar.

I've read everything out there on removing Tikka barrels. Going to try the basics before I cut the shoulder back.

Thanks

Vince

Hi Vince
When discussing T3 barrel removal with my smith, he advised there a real risk of expanding the action with an internal wrench (tight barrel) and he only uses an external custom wrench, did not see it.

I just removed one yesterday that was a pain in the ass. I started with an internal wrench and cranked on it real good and it didn't even start to budge. I ended up just cutting 20 thousandths away from the shoulder of the action and it almost span on by hand at that point. I wouldn't spend too much time messing with it personally. Chop it throw a Bartlein or something on it and be done.
