I have found locally a guy with a 338 Winchester magnum rifle. The bolt face on this gun is .540 This is the same bolt face diameter of a WSM. I am looking to build a 300 wsm. This action would also allow me to load to a much longer length. Am I missing something?
My build Ideally would look like this
Tikka magnum action with .540 bolt face
Mesa Tactical Carbon stock
Proof carbon Prefit barrel chambered in 300 wsm
I should be able to load this out to at least 3.5 using factory mag. I should never need to go over 3.2 AOL from everything I have read.
