As most of you know I picked up a Tikka 308 Varmint a couple of weeks ago. I have been buying a couple of trinkets here and there to personalize my rifle. I had picked up the Big Bolt and metal shroud from Hinterland shooting in Oz. Last week I went on vacation to New Mexico and met a couple of old friends. Charley from Score hi put one of his signature brakes on the end and a good friend bedded my stock and painted the rifle. I must say I like the end result and from the looks of the target on the bottom so does my Tikka, I shot the groups today using Federal gold match. I can’t wait until my reloading equipment comes in next week, I am sure I can better them with home rolled ammo.

As a side note, I need to thank ARPredator Hunter for providing the inspiration for the graphics of my rifle!!

Re: Tikka Redux

Thx guys, I know the paint is not everyone's cup o tea, but I like it and since a family member did the work it's that more individualized to me. She shoots great too!!

Re: Tikka Redux

While I prefer basic Krylon camo, the skulls are pretty rad. Awhile ago some guy was selling two 595s on gunbroker that had cheetas and unicorns and shit painted on them in all sorts of fruity colors. I almost cried when I saw that.

Tikkas are awesome shooters. I wish somebody would make metal mag housing/trigger guards for them. That's really the one and only thing I'd like different.

Also waiting impatiently for the new T3 Sporters to get to this side of the pond.

Re: Tikka Redux

In my oinion one of best out of box bolt guns on the market. My T3 Tactical 308 is a sub 0.5 MOA gun as long as I do my job. Manners stock is a must add part and now I see a box magazine option from CDI

Way cool paint job

Re: Tikka Redux

Wow that bottom metal transforms the look of the rifle!

The quality of the action, trigger, and barrel are on par if not better than any factory gun. To keep to a mid level price point, they had to skimp on the stock.

Re: Tikka Redux

I will probably put a break on my Tikka Varmint .308. I installed one on my .223 Tika Varmint & the thing shoots like a .22. Right now I'm waiting for my new XLR stock to get here for the .308.

No, like this:

edit: Whoops! thought you were talking about the Sporter, not the bottom metal. That's nice - now they need to make that for the older 595s. I don't need an extened mag or anything - just a nice metal guard/well.

Doesn't do anything for me. Then again i'm into dual purpose guns, hunting and target shooting.
