What’s involved with converting a Tikka t3x from SA to long action?

Swap to LA barrel, bolt stop, and mag.
Head space the barrel .

Anything else involved here?

I’m at .308.
That’s what I was wondering if the bolt required was different. The Tikka actions are all long action. But I wasn’t sure if the bolt was different between SA and LA and it sounds like it is and would need to be swapped out as well.

.308 is smaller bolt face than 300wm, Ndbow posted the specs above. You'll need a mag bolt
I probably should have stated a generic non magnum caliber instead of win 300 mag. I’m not set on a specific caliber yet. I’m working out the need to know details in my mind.

If I understand this correctly.

So if I don’t go to a magnum, I can use my existing .308 bolt?

If you go with something like a 30-06 or 270, the 308 bf will work. Bf is depends on the caliber, not LA or SA.

Are you saying if you buy a used barrel it’s kind of plug and play as long as you have the correct bolt? No need for go, no go gauges to head space it?
No need to head space it?

You should always verify, but it should it work just fine. Tikkas generally work with shouldered pre-fits.
