My wife and kids bought me a new T1 for Christmas. I ordered a new bolt shroud and base last night. I searched the net but can’t find anything on how to remove it. For those of you who have replaced the shroud how did you do it?
There is a pin going through the shroud. Does this need to be removed and is it under spring tension? Thanks

This thread is about as close as I've found for directions on removal and assembly.
And yes that pin has to be removed.
Once you do it a couple of times it gets easier...
Pay attention to the pin orientation one side is rounded so push it out from the other flat side.
An extra set of hands to reinsert the pin when you get the hole lined back up will help.
And like they say be careful of the red fire indicator it's made of light plastic.

Pull the bolt out. Hold the bolt steady and twist the shroud. The shroud will turn mayb 90 degrees and then will allow you to pull it off.

    Thank you

On this, since it being plastic and small usually a 1/4 stick of dynamite does the trick. You can use a 1/2 stick but it might bend or blow off the bolt handle. Whatever you do, do with caution and don't do it in the house at the kitchen sink.
