Tikka T3 bolt operation with safety on

I recently picked up a lightly used Tikka T3 Forest and the only gripe I have with the gun is that I can't operate the bolt to chamber a round with the safety on. I noticed that bar that comes up into the bottom of the bolt body when the safety is engaged and I'm curious if that bar can be removed without negatively impacting proper function of the safety. Has anybody else messed around with this or do you just live with it?

Yikes. For that much I may as well just grind that pin down.

I like the positioning of the safety, I just don't want the bolt locked when the safety is on.

What about grinding it down would cause an unsafe condition? From what I can tell, grinding it down to the point that it no longer engages the bolt body when the safety is engaged won't affect the travel of that pin.

Seems to me I should be able to cut down the reduced diameter portion of that vertical pin and nothing would change other than being able to manipulate the bolt with the safety on.
