I hope this is the right section to post this, need some advice from Tikka users. Recently decided to get into reloading and wanted to collapse the inventory to all .30 cal. Purchased a Tikka T3 lite in .300 WM, a Sako A7 roughtech is next on the list, but this is a new rifle to me so I have a few questions as I have only owned/used 700's.

Is the retaining pin for the bolt release suppose to protrude from the receiver when disassembled?

Are there any aftermarket options for bottom metal for this rifle?

I have looked at either ordering a B&C or Boyds' stock for it, are their any options that I have over looked or are a better purchase (primary use will be hunting)? Looking to add some weight to it.

Any further advice or suggestions would be appreciated. I have not shot it yet, scope and rings need to be purchased later.

Is the retaining pin for the bolt release suppose to protrude from the receiver when disassembled? Yes, this allows you to grip it in order to remove the bolt stop.

Are there any aftermarket options for bottom metal for this rifle? Yes, there are a couple. A quick google search will find at least two.

Manners makes stocks specific to the Tikka, and they will inlet most Rem stocks for the Tikka as well. Not sure why you would add weight to a hunting rifle, but Manners can add exactly as much as you want.

Thanks for the advice. While I have entertained another Manners stock I am not sure if I want to go expensive or a less expensive route this time. Just finished with my Rem 5r project so this is a slow project.

Mainly looking to dampen the recoil a bit. Fired one in .300 WSM prior to the purchase and while not painful, I would like to have a little less recoil to ensure adequate range sessions to become proficient with the rifle for next season.

KRG X-Ray is an excellent, lightweight option. 3.1 lbs, adjustable comb and LOP, and uses AICS mags. At $600, it is less than most other adjustable stocks that require a separate purchase of bottom metal. And it comes with a decent recoil pad.
