Hi, just joined the forum. I have a Tikka T3 30-06 and I'm looking to mount a Zeiss 3x9-40. I have always used Warne bases and rings for all my rifles with great results and I would like to use their rings on this rifle but they don't make a base for it. I could just buy Warnes that fit the intergrated rail on the rifle but I have a couple permanent attached Warne sets that I would like to use. The rifle is mainly used for hunting.

Recently I've been reading about EGW rails and they look very nice. They come in 0 and 20 moa, I guess 0 is what I need? Will Warne rings fit this base properly? I'm asking this because I noticed that Warne rings don't exactly fit Weaver brand bases very well, too much play. When I use Warne rings with Warne bases the fit is better.

Re: Tikka T3 mounts

No offense but for what you are wanting to do. You might as well use the ones that came with it. If you do want to use better rings, you might want to step up to at least some tps rings. There is a reason warne rings don't fit other bases very well.

To me they look like rings for a .22, most people seemed to use other mounts

Re: Tikka T3 mounts

The rings are crap, toss them in the trash - especially with a 30-06.

I've used Warne and like them, but they are heavy and mounting the vertical ring halves takes a little practice and finesse.
On my Tikkas, I prefer Talley rings, they mount to the receiver, not the rail, and they have integral bases with bottom ring halves - fewer things to go wrong. Mine have been very strong, no problems, and they are significantly lighter than the Warnes.

Ge the Talley's
