Debating which route to take. It’ll be a 223 mainly for plinking out to 800.... MDT route would be a bit lighter which is a plus in my book. Does Tac A1 have a better trigger, action or are they pretty close? Money wise I figured it be within $200 so not a big deal. I already have a brand new T3x so if the finished product will be close either way I’ll just stick to the MDT build. Thoughts welcome

T3X Varmint trigger is single-stage. T3X TAC-A1 is two-stage. Pull weights are otherwise pretty close. Otherwise actions are identical, other than the TC A1 puts a little plastic ball on the regular nubby little T3X bolt handle to make it more "tactical." The TAC A1 chassis is maybe a bit heavier - check the specs. I've owned both.

I had a T3X Varmint in the LSS-XL chassis (Photo, more info in another SH thread here). Hopefully you like AR-style grips. The LSS-XL, which is an older design, pushes a vertical grip maybe 1/4" too far down but the vertical grip is otherwise fine. I'd suggest ordering MDT's excellent M-Lok ARCA rail for either rifle to provide optimal bipod attachment, if you want one.
