Tikka T3X prefit barrel

Hi,
I have a Tikka T3X in 22-250 and am interested in changing it to 223/5.56, but am not sure which chambering. As long as it is short action and I get the correct magazine, can I use any short action cartridge on this action? Thanks for any advice!

Not without swapping the bolt. Your bolt face is too large for 223.

Tikkas are great because you can get multiple bolts and multiple pre fits and shoot whatever You want. I myself have a 223 bolts and a 308 bolt. Get a barrel vise and action wrench and swap them out yourself with no problem. Next I Need to get magnum bolt

If you have a 8 twist 22-250 it would make a great 22 creedmoor. Rechamber job would be cheaper than a new barrel and bolt face.
