So troops, I'll be taking delivery of one of these in the near future, while I know my way around REM and similar rifles and accessories, I've been doing my best to get "schooled" on Tikka parts etc.

That said some of my concerns are with a scope rail, I've read some comments that the Tikka can be hard to remove? , with that in mind, do some folks opt for the 20 MOA scope rings & base? also are the thread M18? or 5/8?

I've found some of the Sterk aftermarket stuff, which is pretty nice.

Any other comments or "been there done that" would be appreciated

I took the lazy approach, left the stock rail in place, and tried the Burris XTR rings and used the 20 MOA inserts. They seem solid and well built. Ran a tall target test with my scope and all checked out fine.

Full disclosure: I have no match or comp experience, just range/desert shooting for me so far...

The Tac A1’s you can pick up in the US, the barrels are threaded 5/8x24 for their 308’s and 6.5 creedmoor. The scope rail on mine came off pretty easy. The rail is a 0 moa and swapping it out to anything else would not be my choice while keeping the factory chassis as it intragrates with the chassis. A new rail would not line up and may cause chassis fitment issues depending on length. A 20 moa unimount for your scope is the way to go if you are looking for some extra elevation. A Sterk swept bolt handle is a must. You will be amazed the difference in running the bolt.
