last month I bought a T3X CTR and even before it was in my hands I had the Yodave spring. Initially, out of the box, the rifle had about a 4 lb pull. After installing the spring, the best I could get was about 2.5 lb. Yes, the spring was installed on the short leg of the pin. This was a far cry from the 12-16 oz that others claim to have gotten.
at the lightest setting, with the stock spring back in, pull was between 3-3.25 lb. At this point I called Beretta and was told I should be able to get to 2.5 lb maximum at the minimum adjustment. They sent me a link to have UPS pick up the rifle and send off to MD. I generated the pick up last Friday for a Monday pick up.
I sent Yodave an email asking if possibly the supplier of his springs had changed something.
Meanwhile, I had 25 rounds loaded so I went to the range Saturday and shot them off. Sunday, prior to packing the rifle up, I checked the pull again and found it to be consistently 2 lb with stock spring at minimum adjustment. I tried the Yodave spring and had no real change. By this time Dave responded to my Yodave inquiry. He suggested flushing out the trigger with lighter fluid to see if I could get a better result. I removed the adjustment screw, spring and pin, soaked in acetone, blew out and then flushed with lighter fluid and blew out. That's when things went south.
I reinstalled everything and much to my dismay I could not get the trigger to break at less than 7 lb, about 6 lb with the lighter spring. I dry fired at least 20 times and it never changed. Dave suggested removing the spring/pin, holding the the trigger forward while cocking and checking pull. It was in excess of 5 lb. That eliminates the reset spring as the cause of the problem. Only thing I can think of at this point is excessive sear spring or very rough sear surfaces.
Rifle is on it's way to Beretta. Fortunately it's only one day to MD from me.
