last month I bought a T3X CTR and even before it was in my hands I had the Yodave spring. Initially, out of the box, the rifle had about a 4 lb pull. After installing the spring, the best I could get was about 2.5 lb. Yes, the spring was installed on the short leg of the pin. This was a far cry from the 12-16 oz that others claim to have gotten.

at the lightest setting, with the stock spring back in, pull was between 3-3.25 lb. At this point I called Beretta and was told I should be able to get to 2.5 lb maximum at the minimum adjustment. They sent me a link to have UPS pick up the rifle and send off to MD. I generated the pick up last Friday for a Monday pick up.

I sent Yodave an email asking if possibly the supplier of his springs had changed something.

Meanwhile, I had 25 rounds loaded so I went to the range Saturday and shot them off. Sunday, prior to packing the rifle up, I checked the pull again and found it to be consistently 2 lb with stock spring at minimum adjustment. I tried the Yodave spring and had no real change. By this time Dave responded to my Yodave inquiry. He suggested flushing out the trigger with lighter fluid to see if I could get a better result. I removed the adjustment screw, spring and pin, soaked in acetone, blew out and then flushed with lighter fluid and blew out. That's when things went south.

I reinstalled everything and much to my dismay I could not get the trigger to break at less than 7 lb, about 6 lb with the lighter spring. I dry fired at least 20 times and it never changed. Dave suggested removing the spring/pin, holding the the trigger forward while cocking and checking pull. It was in excess of 5 lb. That eliminates the reset spring as the cause of the problem. Only thing I can think of at this point is excessive sear spring or very rough sear surfaces.

Rifle is on it's way to Beretta. Fortunately it's only one day to MD from me.

I had the exact same problem with mine. Beretta would take it back and covered the shipping but that means I would have to remove it from the KRG Bravo and stick it into the old CTR stock which I got rid of... and then be without my rifle for 8-10 days.

My other Tikka, the trigger is fine. I have the new spring with it set @ 1 lb.

Since I was impatient and didn't want Beretta screwing around with my Bravo chassis since they would have to disassemble and reassemble it I bought the Timney 2-stage on the July 4th sale. Comparing my 2 Tikkas... The 2 stage with 8oz/8oz is nicer than the 1lb single stage. I might end up replacing my other triggers with 2-stage Timneys..

Though, if I never had to deal with this problem, the 1 lb crisp single stage is really nice. Tikka makes great factory triggers.

UPS just indicated delivered. That was less than 24hrs. I'm just really curious about what the heck happened. I've never had a problem flushing out triggers before. I was going to cancel the pick up when I measured the pull at 2 lb and then got Dave's response suggesting flushing out the trigger.

Someone told me to flush out the trigger as well but I wasn't comfortable doing that. Mine's at 2.4 lbs is the lowest I can get it. I'll leave it maybe for when I go hunting and swap the triggers out. If Beretta does tell you what happened, please let us know. If I could fix my own without having to send everything to them that'd be great!

The other person who I knew had this happened, Beretta just put a new trigger on there. So there wasn't any info on the fix.

got my rifle back from Beretta on Thursday, exactly 2 weeks door to door. The trigger was changed. what's curious is that, previously, with Yodave spring and adjusted to minimum, there was no pre-tension on the trigger. Sometimes the bolt wouldn't cock. With new trigger that's not occuring with the lighter spring installed and there is a pre-tension on the trigger. At minimum, trigger pull is 1.5lb.

I'd gotten some 120g SMK for break-in sight-in but really wanted to try some Hornady 140 ELD-M with RL-16. This was my range day Friday.

center group (no data) was a test to see maximum load. 5 shots total at 100 yds. loads were 40.0-42.5 (.5g increment). I think a very interesting result. no significant pressure signs

next 5 groups (with data) are seating depth test using a fixed load of 40g for all. L to R and T to B, 4 shot groups at 200 yd starting at .005 off the lands with a .010" increment.

It looks like I'm going to love this bullet. Next week I'll try some jammed and will do a ladder test at .015" jump. At .005" jump I had all the case neck filled up and the rounds easily fit in the MDT magazine.
