So I've had this crummy pine tree in my front yard since I moved in, and my wife finally convinced me to take care of the problem. After getting the chains on my saw's all sharpened up, I went to it.

Oh and before I forget the specs: Big saw is a Stihl 042AV with a 24" bar, and that handy little fella is a Stihl 12 inch 015AV.

You should take a whack at carving a bear/something out of the stump, might make for an interesting lawn-ornament.

I did this to two trees in my yard last year and the local tree service guys came out with their truck and ground it all into mulch for about $50 which was way cheaper than I thought it would be and also cheaper than hauling it to the dump on my own. Might be worth looking into.
