Time to upgrade Terminus ? Apollo vs Zues

I read for only about 5 minutes on their page, but the only major difference that was obvious to me is the quick change barrel option.

I am currently running all Tikka Or Sako plat form rifles.

I have no need for a quick change barrel as I run 260 and 223

I will be purchasing new rifles in the above calibers the 260 as a PRS gun and the 223 as a trainer.

I am leaning more towards a Apollo action over the Zeus and Bartlein Barrel. Just want to make sure I am not missing something.

The Zeus has an integral lug and rail, which is where the money is going. The Apollo has neither of those. If those features are important to you buy the Zeus, if not by the Apollo

I understand this thread is a bit dated, but I did not want to start a new one when some questions have already been asked and answered.

Known: Apollo prefits are cheaper than Zeus prefits.

Note: referencing above and the Terminus website as of the date of this post, later model Terminus Apollos now have integral 0.250" recoil lugs but still have pinned picatinny rails up top as opposed to integral Picatinny rails like the Terminus Zeus.

With that said, the question is:

Will Terninus Apollo short action prefit barrels install and headspace correctly in Terminus Zeus short actions (or similar Curtis short actions) for a given caliber with correct bolt face?

I know there will be no shoulder shelf on the Apollo prefit barrels similar to the Quick-Change Zeus action prefit barrels. I also know any tightening of the Zeus Quick-Change action hex lock screws into the Apollo prefit barrel that was screwed into the Zeus action, to hold it in place, will necessarily be coming up against a threaded surface versus a 'flat' shoulder found on the Zeus Quick-Change prefit barrels. Non-Quick-Change Zeus short action owners, I am guessing, do not have to worry about this consideration, and would be in a good position to save some money given possible Apollo prefit barrel Zeus/Curtis short action compatibility.

Given price differences for prefits between these actions, it is worth knowing for the Terminus Zeus owners who are looking to save a few bucks and who struggle with off the shelf Zeus prefit availability for a given caliber.

Yes, a call to Joel Russo will settle this question once and for all. However, until I can get him on the phone for this one, I figured someone here might already know.

Did you find you answer? I too have the same question. If the Apollo prefits works on a full length Zeus that would push me over to get Zeus.

The zues is more comparable to the Valor though

I’m fairly certain they do not interchange. Zeus has a .300 lug and the Apollo has a .250 lug.

Did you find you answer? I too have the same question. If the Apollo prefits works on a full length Zeus that would push me over to get Zeus.

People are saying no go due to lug size differences between Apollo (.250") and Zeus (.300")....and I still need to call Joel
