Might anyone be running, or know if it's possible to run, a Timney 517 with the straight trigger in a BlackOps / Defiance Machine detachable bottom metal? I'm not sure as to the fit and would rather ask before ordering a couple. Thank you.

I called Timney and I am running on memory which is a scarey thought in its self, but it seems the trigger you need has a "U" in the part number. A 517U. Don't take this as the end all, but when I ordered one it had a :U" on the vpart number. Sorry I could not be more help, but my mind,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,, well, you know!

The U in the part number on a Timney refers to a longer sear bar and has nothing to do with the length of the trigger shoe. The U sear is ~.045" to .050" longer than the sear on non-U triggers. FWIW the U sear will give you a firing pin fall closer to a factory Remington than the standard Timney sear will. The reason so many people have ignition issues with the standard Timney is it generally reduces firing pin fall by .045" to .050" over what Remington designed it to have. Great for faster lock time and smooth cocking on close but generally bad for consistent ignition.
