So i droped a Timney in a rem 700, it went in easy but the bolt release is a little rought. It looks like the spring is forceing the bolt release to one side and its hanging a little. Not to sure how to illeviate some of the twist thats going on. If i push it center with my finger its much smoother, should i ease the spring a little or let it work itself in?

That would be the logical step, but make sure there's not too much rattle between the bolt release triangular piece & the trigger housing.
Better to buff the f@#k out of both surfaces & not have too much play.

Re: Timney install

I was going to back the screw off but didn't mess with it wasnt sure what else if anything it did. Like hold the trigger together in some fashion.

I have time to play with it looks like another week before everything else is getting here before i can bring her out for the first time.

Re: Timney install

nfngun - it doesn't do anything except hold the bolt release plate.

All you have to do is back it out enough so it slides freely against the trigger housing.

Taking it off & buffing the contact surfaces is a plus.

Re: Timney install

thanks will give me something too do one night. It would seem the tooling in the cut out for the release may be adding to it it as well.
