As another completely ignorant guy in Michigan that intends to jump on the suppressor band wagon, I was hoping experienced folks here could give some research tips...other than reading every thread in the forum.

Search terms maybe?

Not even totally sure what I'm asking for here, but my current method of learning is very inefficient.

Any help would be great.

Re: Tips on learning?

According to my current understanding, I think Ive learned:

1. Set up a trust. It saves the CLEO signoff, the fingerprints and the background check. Speeds the process, allows those people named as trustees to be legally in possession of the items, and makes items easier to transfer.

2. As always, buy once and cry once

silencertalk is good. Here's a tip: save up because after your first can you will probably have three or four more within a year

Thanks! I'm intending on buying 2 or 3 right off the bat. Just need to decide what features I need and want, and which ones have them.

Re: Tips on learning?

These are the criteria I would use when choosing a suppressor -- yours may vary. I have ranked these in order of my preference, any suppressor that fails to meet the first four criteria doesn't make it down the list. Following those, I want the lightest suppressor, since it'll be hanging off the end of my barrel. Cost is what it is -- since I'll include a $200 stamp to the cost of the suppressor, plus add on the time waiting on the ATF, this is not where I'm going to get cheap.

Re: Tips on learning?

HINK...

Reset:

1. There are no hearing safe cans (past .22) with SS, no matter what anybody tells you.
2. No centerfire can needs to open, most well designed .22s don't either.
3. It not just materials alone, think construction technique and design.
4. FA for FA
5. Weight based on barrel profile and more.
6. There are plenty of over priced cans, and some astonishing price drops lately.

Where is accuracy? Accuracy should be at the top of your list.
