TL3 LA mag options (>3.625 COAL??)

I've been trying to do my homework on TL3 and Deviant actions, specifically regarding mag choices for a manners/badger gen 1 mini chassis.

For those with a TL3 who hand load...the max COAL on the AI mags for .300 win is listed at 3.625? ...I've been reading some posts that folks are loading 215 bergers >3.625 with good success...this is my first .300wm so I do not currently have any data for this.

Would like to be able to load as long as required to find what my rifle likes...is there another magazine choice, or is it only AI? Any inputs?

Im guessing the answer will be 3.625 is plenty long, but wanted to lean on the experience in tge room. I'm fairly ignorant on all of this and am learning as I go.

A gunsmith can mill out the magwell on the gen1 mini chassis to accept CIP length mags or if you're having the stock built by Manners, they have a mini chassis already set for the CIP mag length.

Read a few posts that the mini chassis needs some milling to get accurate mags to work?

I'd like this to be able to run factory AI/Accurate mags vs CIP. 3.625 just seems a little short.

I may be stuck going with an internal box mag type setup

Accurate mags work fine with the mini chassis. Accurate also makes CIP length mags, I believe MDT does as well.

3.625" is fine with the 300wm but if you want to load out to 3.700" or go to a 300PRC instead of the win mag, the CIP length (3.850") mags are what you need. To do so, you will need to do as I suggested above.

Thank you sir! I'll look at the accurate mags, that looks like it is load able to >3.7

To echo, CIP length is where you're going to be best off. If you find a long action in stock some where and need the CIP modification to your receiver, let us know and we'll get you set up. Otherwise, you can buy direct and indicate that you would like the CIP modification and we'll do it while it's in production.

Thank you - Ray

Awesome Ray, thanks. I will give you guys a call. Was already going to order through you guys, I dont see the DLC coated in stock anywhere anyhow.

I have a TL3 long action, a manners stock with their CIP length mini chassis in it (I used a KRG Bravo before the manners as it is CIP length as well), I use AICS CIP mags, I have one accurate mag CIP length that worked well with the bravo but doesn't work with the manners, it wont insert fully and lock into place.

Any way, TL3 long action + Manners w/ CIP mini Chassis or KRG Bravo + AICS CIP mag works perfect, and I can load out to 3.750". Feeds perfectly fine.
