To Duracoat or Not To Duracoat?

Ok. So I need some opinions real quick. I'm having my 700 completely rebuilt and before reassembling, my GS asked if I want to duracoat it. The stock is B&C OD with black spidering. I put an AAC Nitride barrel on and it doesn't completely match the stock action now. I am considering duracoating the barreled action OD to match the stock, leaving the bolt black, base metal and 10 round mag black, AAC brake black. I have a Nightforce unimount going on it. If you did the above scheme, would you duracoat the unimount OD with a black NF scope? Leave the matt black on the unimount? I'd love to hear your opinions. Thanks for your suggestions!

Re: To Duracoat or Not To Duracoat?

Merlin I currently have a rifle at smiths for some work and opted for similar scheme. I'm having the barrel, action, base and rings cerakoted in OD green with the bolt in black. So to answer your question I (my preference) would paint the rings. I kind of like the contrast with the black scope. my stock is a different one but that's besides the point. GOOD LUCK !!

Re: To Duracoat or Not To Duracoat?

It would not be that hard to throw the rings in the mix so I would see no downside other than the resale of the rings later would take a hit ( ?) IMO

Re: To Duracoat or Not To Duracoat?

Here's a build I just finished for the most part. It goes along the lines of what you describe. Personally I dont care for the rings having a sharp contrast against the scope but you might not. Just wanting to show you a example of a green stock and barreled action along with a black bolt and scope/base/rings. The skins are factory, the bbl/action is a custom mix of Cerakote and the bolt is Graphite Black. I left the 51T suppressor mount with factory black finish.I will soon be doing the entire rig an all green digital with Duracoat.

OP, Dimensions is a guy that does art work on stocks, known for airbrushing skulls. Not my cup of tea but some like it.
