Hi all,

I'm starting my 308 load development for an AR10 pattern semi-auto (Colt LE901). Previously when I loaded for my AR15 SPR type rifle, I've used RCBS small based die to aid with feeding. Question is, for a 308 WIN semi-auto rifle, do I need a small based die? If so, who besides RCBS makes one?

thanks!

Need no, best practices yes. Sloppy semi auto chambers are for reliable feeding, not brass conservation. I reload LC 5 times then trash them. You don't need a small base die to preform this task. If your hand, you can go at it another way. For about $50, I just bought the die. Hope this helps.

Redding and Forster also make small base sizing dies. I would go with the cheapest, its a semi auto. All Dillon dies are by default small base sizing dies. Sorry should have stated that better above.
