I'm rebarreling my Savage but deciding on a Criterion prefit 223 standard chamber or match. The question is for those experienced in shooting a small variety through either chamber.
Most people reload for a couple types of match bullets, so in my case I want to shoot the 75 eldm out to 1000 in a 7 twist barrel. I think Northland SS told me the match chamber is .090 free bore. I also wouldn't mind shooting factory ammo on occasion for plinking in the 75 grain range, would that generally work with such a long free bore (I know each barrel is different so it isn't a given)? Or should I go standard chamber and have to seat the 75 eld a little shorter and sacrifice case capacity?
I realize I can't have the best of both worlds but I don't know if anyone shoots factory or plinking loads from a match chamber will acceptable accuracy? In this case 75 bthp with a long jump since that's loaded in a lot of plinking ammo.
