After selling almost all of my 308s off, with the exeption of my m40a1, i gathered enough funds to buy just one 308.I talked with different vendors here on the hide and all offered great help and are great people and very helpfull like Jonathan,Erik,Alex,I almost bought the AE MkII which is really all i need since i dont do extreme weather shooting or anything like that.I know myself and i would be asking why i didnt go all the way and get the AW,so i got it.I picked it up Friday evening at my ffls,oh Diann at Mile High Shooting Acc. shipped it asap, thanks!
I shot a couple loads i did threw together friday night and really like the results!Im happy with this fine rifle,it feels different than my Rem700s,just seems like a solid piece of equipment.
AI AW 308 20" factory fluted ,folding stock,18moa base 3-12x50 SB PM II

I will have an AI bipod shortly, need a sling and more 10 round mags too.

I didnt get to shoot reloads with H4895 since i ran out of time.
New Lapua brass was used,210m primers,Varget and Rldr 15

100yd 5 shot groups for load testing, felt weird sitting at 100yds,i never shoot so close of distance.
    5-8mph winds from 1-7oclock

    Re: Took the Plunge

Looking Good when you get you bipod just a suggestion use some blue lock tite on the pins that retain catch. Both of mind as we a shooting partners fell apart, difficult finding a spring in the grass

    81sfo - Nice rig

DesertHK - As another point of reference, I have the same rifle and got 2550 avg with Black Hills 175gr SMKs last time I chrono'd. I'm curious how 81sfo's rig does as well.

    Re: Took the Plunge

thanks , i really like this rifle alot ,ill have more pics this weekend and target shots too. I cant get over how nice the action cycles and how the trigger breaks two stage clean!

    Re: Took the Plunge

I havent weighed it yet,but i think it weighs les than my rem700 19.5" m40 contour barreled 2.0 aics rifle i had.that one was like 14.5 pounds.

I just weighed it,16 pounds with scope and bipods.

Had to go dovetail becuase i wanted the scope to sit as low as possible.

The dovetail definitely helps keep things low. You can see how the S&B 3-12x50 or PR 3-15x50 lines up in this thread.
