Hello, I'm officially driving myself nuts over what scope to get, I can get a vortex viper pst 6-24x50 moa/moa SFP for just under 700, or I can get a leupold mark 4 lr/t m1 6.5-20 non illuminated for 965.. What do you guys think would be the better of the two, I want to stay under 1000 and Ive narrowed it down to these two

Need to decide quick, lol thank you all help is appreciated!!

The gun its going on is a 700 LTR, I prob will take it hunting with me from time to time, but it's mostly a match gun, and I just sold the Zeiss conquest 4.5-14x50 w z plex reticle, and hunting turrets, I don't want to sacrifice quality either ..

Does the glass compare between them?

Re: Torn! Help choosing btwn mark 4 or pst?!

I would highly recommend getting a scope with a zero stop. All you need is to be off by ONE FULL TURN (which is a BUNCH of moa) and have your bullets go flying who knows where and you will become a believer in zero stops. Only other solution is single turn that has all the moa you need (in one turn) ala USO.

Anyway, IMO its a safety feature. Being off a full turn (high) can put you over the bunker. Bad move.

If you use your rifle the majority of the time for matches, get the Viper PST. But spend a few extra dollars and get the one with the FFP. You can range unknown distance with it at any power setting.

Look around for various vendors here on the hide and they'll sell you a Viper PST FFP 6-24x50 for right around $900 - $950. Give a call to Mike at CS Tactical. http://www.cstactical.com/

It will double as an excellent hunting scope.

Doesn't matter if it's MOA/MOA or MIL/MIL it's personal preference and they both work excellent.

Plus if you look at the majority of matches around the country, Vortex gives more back to shooters than Leupold does. It would be nice to support those that support us...especially if you compete.

Re: Torn! Help choosing btwn mark 4 or pst?!

Thanks, I'm going to go with the viper, I get a decent discount on the leupold but it's still expensive, does ffp cover alot of the paper target at 24x? I never had any experience with a ffp scope as all of my scopes were SFP, I'm leaning towards moa more then mill, just ffp vs SFP lol

Helpp!! Thanks
