Re: torque?

clean everything up good and grease it.I like to set it(turn it down) 3 times, then go for the final set at atleast 40lbs. sometimes it may be at the high end before it lines up, and if thats teh case you can face the front alittle, then she times in just right. some knock off a tooth if its in the way...I dont like that, myself.

so 50-60 is my number, and if its not there,I will make it get there

Re: torque?

Clean the threads on the upper and barrel nut. Apply a light coat of moly grease. Torque to 30lbs three times then torque to align the gas tube. Minimum is 30lbs and some go as high as 80lbs. If I get past 60-65lbs I try a different barrel nut. You can use a number 15 twist drill (0.180 inch)as a gas tube alignment tool.
