Can one become a Recce if you snore? I mean, you could potentially get you're entire squad killed...
I know, stupid pointless question, but I wonder.... ?

That said, depending the A/O an mother-nature at that time, the LP's almost can not be posted far enough away, depending. No LP's, don't take guys that snore or sleep tight. Tight sleepers are the good, but I have found their training has to be instilled the strongest as awaken abruptly, just to move can have issues as well. Knowing the guys your with has nothing to do with training as most everyone is the same in that, but everything to do with reactions to everything/everyday events while out that can cause mission issues.
There are/were mindset courses that teach many different things. Robots an radios have there place at times, but being a robot has issues down the road.
Laughing we tried that as well, but decided just to have him moved to different missions. If the A/O had been different, it would have been a none issue but, working that close was the gig at hand. Had guys that never snored until extreme lack of sleep an stress set in, bad place to find that out.Ralph was on my LRRP team. When we laagered-up to sleep he snored so loudly we made him sleep with his gas mask on.
All that did was change the snoring to Darth Vader. I don't think that would have worked in combat.
Wonder if any Vietnam veteran can tell us about snorring during missions in the jungles?
having a snoring condition is no reason to not go out for SF/Sniper/Recon/Ranger, only a piss poor excuse for not having the nuts to try.
