After having been issued one for years, I've always wanted my own MP5. I think I may have found an option that may make that dream a reality-getting a "flat" (I've found them as low as $99 from ORF) and having a company out of Texas-TPM outfitters-build me one up. I know that full auto will be way to expensive, but one even in semi would be awesome. I trust the opinions on this site-anyone out there have any expeirence doing any of this-or with any of these companies (TPM/ORF)? Thanks in advance for any input...

TPM should be GTG in regard to quality. I believe the guys worked for Murray Urbach and trained under him. I have an all German MP5-10 built on and HK-94 that was built by TPM and it is a work of art. As you may know the all German MP5-10 or MP5-40 is an extremely difficult conversion involving changing the magwell/front end from the 9mm MP5 to the larger .40/10mm magwell as well as installing the LRBHO. They did an excellent job and it looks 100% factory with no signs of the cutting/grafting that I can find.

Do not know anything about ORF but I think the best flats are probably LSC flats. Not real sure what the market for parts kits are right now, you may not be able to pick and choose too much but hopefully you can find what you want.

Good luck. MP5's are really fun and worth building/owning, you should be pleased.
