I need new rings so I am going to go with seekins. I already have a TPS 20 MOA base. I am considering buying a seekins base to go along with the rings. I have seen post about TPS rings but nothing about the base. Is there any point in changing bases. The TPS I have now is steel if that matters.

Re: TPS or Seekins Base

I got the seeking from SWFA. Absolutely awesome!!! Fits perfectly, no need to bed it at all. And for $99 I couldn't beat it.

I've got my 50mm Weaver in .990 rings and they have about .25" of clearance so you could go lower.

Re: TPS or Seekins Base

I have both. Seekins goes that extra mile for fit and finish and his prices show that. TPS are very reasonably priced but availability has been an issue for me. Customer Service with TPS has been questionable.

Weigh the pros/cons of each and decide from there. I've had good luck with both products.

Re: TPS or Seekins Base

I like TPS stuff, but Seekins is definitely hands down a cut above.

CS at TPS has taken a slide over the past couple years.

My current go to match boltgun has 3 companies involved int he metal: Remington for the receiver, Bartlein for the tube, and Seekins for the base, rings and DBM.

Re: TPS or Seekins Base

Like Slayer said above, fit and finish of the seekins are perfect, but I still see no reason to change if you already have a good steel base. I would definetly bed it though.

Re: TPS or Seekins Base

The TPS steel base is excellent. Looking at the seekins I see they are aluminum so that would be a no go for me.I don't like aluminum bases because steel rings bite into the base and can actually move because the aluminum is softer than the steel.
