It happens to all scopes from time to time. Your best bet is to try hitting it on a phone book to knock the spec off and it will stick to the inside of the tube. If that doesn't work, and you absolutely can't live with it being there, you can send it to S&B to fix the problem.

Phone book didn't work. I have emailed Schmidt is I think it will have to go back. I just hope it is covered under warranty. Not the best pic. I didn't realise how hard it is to take photos through a scope.

Is that pointed at a clean white wall? All that stuff shown in the picture is in there? Like 20 specs?

Did you get a cleaning kit with the scope? Might could stand from being wiped off... Sometimes thats fuzz left from the cardboard paper they roll them in.

I pointed it at my clean White PVC door. All those specs are inside the tube. I can't believe where it has come from. I was calling Schmidt in Germany all du Friday without success. I registered on the website with my issue. I just hope they get back to be ASAP.

I had my scope sent in to check the turret and general cleaning (I thought I saw a speck inside). They replaced the turret and cleaned the lens... had my scope back in a week and a half.

Ha! Didn't even see that. Yeah Germany might be easier for you, but if you have trouble understanding them, I'd still wager Jerry would be able to get you in contact with someone over there to help.

Sorry for not responding sooner. I had noticed he was in England so sending it to Germany would be the best route to take.
I have been waching this thread and am actually in Germany now until 6 July and will be bringing this to someone's attention at S&B tomorrow morning.
Box it up and get it sent out as they will be expecting to see it after tomorrow.

But if you send it back be prepared for a wait. Last time I sent a PMII back to Germany (reticle change) it was gone for 4 months.

Thank you for your reply. I will call Schmidt again in the morning and get a returns number before I send it off.
I posted here because there are more pm11 users than the uk and I wanted to know I'm not the only person this has happened to.

Well I got a reply from Lisa Weston at Schmidt and Bender to say that the pm11 series only have a 2 year warranty period!!!
I tried calling her but she had left the office. My scope is going to have to go back for assessment.

2 years is the standard European warranty on most "consumer goods". How old is your scope?
They should be able to accept it as a service repair, even if you have to pay for the work?
Just check on their current lead times for service work.....
