Was promoting visit of a local Military Museum in another thread and while doing so came across these photos.....
This is Paul Galanti, USN, being used as a propaganda piece by the NVA during the VN War.....
If you look closely he is indicating he is not happy with his captivity and despite his seemingly hopeless situation he has the will to resist.
This guy is a stud.

Apparently they saw what the NVA could not and helped to clean up their effort to propagandize how US POWS were being treated humanely in captivity.
Perhaps the Military had LIFE censor the middle fingers out of the photo to protect the prisoner but Im thinking the press wanted to assist their NVA allies as best they could.
