Rifle Scopes Tremor2 Reticle

I use a tremor2.. Snipers hide, in my opinion is for each shot to be absolutely precise. The tremor 2 is more of a quick target interdiction rifle.. I would argue it's the fastest method to dispatch of moving targets with wind.. out to 610m . These won't be gnats ass hits but man sized or comparable. There's little appeal in civilian market for it because the necessity isn't exactly there but it works for some.
With tremor 2 I'll shoot at my 1000 yard range with or without wind.. Can make first round hits if I know wind value. Sometimes I train to hit targets without calculating wind too much by studying the area and will get very close hits; with the tree reticle I can see my POI and shift over and will know if it was wind, elevation, etc.
Lastly the wind dots will give you a very good gauge about general wind speed at various distances. You can shoot and see impact and based on wind dot location and your caliber/BC info you can get a good estimate.
I use it to help spot for people also, for those that are newer to shooting at a range and I don't have a sporting scope. They don't realize how wind can effect a 308 at 200-400 meters.. Especially here in El Paso. Blows like a whore on all fours

I see your point, but to me it seems like the best of both worlds. You have the reticle for when you want quick shots, and who says you cant dial and use the crosshairs when you need the absolute precision? Is it just too busy to look at for most? I bought one and am still deciding if it's too busy, but I like the concept...

I don't believe it's busy. Focus on target and it should just blend in. I dial in shots as well as holdovers .
Also, you can dial in past 610m holds.. Those wind dots still work out past. Theres a method but I don't bother .. Yet. It's not too complicated.

I just received my Bushnell ERS with G2DMR, and I honestly don't see any need for anything more. It's reticle has extras to help with ranging, elevation and windage holds, without being a cluttered mess (like the Tremor 2 IMO).
I have a Tremor2 reticle in one of my scopes and use that rifle most of the time. My only complaint is in low light on low power the reticle is not as bold as a plain thick cross hair. That said any fine cross hair scope would suffer in the same situation. My scope does not have illumination. if the center dot was illuminated then I think I wouldn't have a complaint. I'm planning on getting a thermal sight to take care of that problem. As said before whatever reticle you decide to get make sure the subtentions and adjustments use the same measurement mil/mil or MOA/MOA.
I see no problem with a mil-dot set up either, but the thing about America that's awesome is we never settle and always try to improve. I always try to give something it's fair shot until proven otherwise. I seems like there's just a learning curve on this particular piece of equipment that is pretty steep without a skilled teacher. The G2DMR looks like an excellent set up as well. Wish I could do a side by side comparison shoot with a bunch of different options. Anyone know what this Tremor3 is going to look like? I tried using the google machine, but to no success.
As GhengisAhn stated its good for engaging large targets fast...my only complaint with it has come from a few comps...engaging movers is where it gets difficult. Past 500 yds its not too bad because i can zoom in and still see the reticle decent, however i often shoot comps where we have to engage fast movers at 100 yds and the target is only 1-2" big...to have a FOV large enough to track the target I usually have to zoom out to less than 10x...with the tremor 2 there are too many hashes crammed in that +/- 1.5-2.5 mil range that are similar in size...when zoomed out its hard to differentiate which is which because there is no numbering system across the horizontal. Under a time crunch it gets tough. A few of my buddies who have the same reticle or looked thru my optic zoomed out have mentioned the same thing.
Fads? Lol. I've been using the Horus down range for a while now and it's hardly a fad. In training, it's obvious(urban sniper) who does and doesn't have a Horus typically... The timer doesn't lie.

Horus and tremor are not the same, and for military snipers against military snipers probably is obvious since it's simple and most military snipers are marginally proficient. At competitions the Horus does very little as far as a advantage and honestly 99 percent of military snipers come to most comps and don't do very well. Timer doesn't lie

i love my tremor2 reticle. i had it in a praire dog town the other weekend and went from like to love very quickly. the more i have used it the more i like it. each dot in the scope represents a mph of wind. dividing it up into 7 segments between the center and outer most dot. center being 0 mph and on my 300wm the outer dot is 28mph. the dots represent the same mph all the way down to 10mils. very fast to get on target. even little gopher sized targets.
