TRG 22/42 caliber choice - 300WM or 308WIN?

I love my TRG42 in 300wm and will probably never sell it. Incredibly accurate and with 210 Bergers at 2950fps (right at 3.6" w/rl-25), you can hold your own with the 338 crowd at 1/2 the cost per pop and half the percussion. </div></div>

Thank you Justin. I am still saving up money for a KRG stock to take a T3 in 6.5! Either a 6.5x55 long action, or better, if Tikka comes out with a 6.5 in short action (260 Rem, 6.5 Creedmoor, or 6.5x47L)

At your distances I'd suggest going with the TRG22. If you want a different caliber buy an extra barrel blank and have it chambered in 6.5 of some flavor (.260 or 6.5x47 Lapua) and have a switch barrel configuration. .260 will get you most of the longer range distance of a .300 Win mag without all of the recoil, although won't hit quite as hard on target.

I have a TRG22 in .308 soon to be a switch barrel to .260, and I have a TRG42 in .338 Lapua. I feel like I have all of my bases covered.

Yes, I may do that in the future, but I do not reload yet, so ammo choice is limited and expensive. It should change soon now 6.5 is coming strongly

Are you doing a dual bareel set-up (between 308 and 260), or rebarrel to 260 and give up on 308?
