TRG 22 Muzzle Brake

Re: TRG 22 Muzzle Brake

Sako's brake is alright, as long as you get a decent price on it. Near's brake is awesome. There are a few others out there, just have to pick what you would like.

I like to use a brake, just for the recoil part. As long as your comfortable with the extra blast, go for it. I say it's worth it.

This sounds to be more shooting position/fundamentals. Are we talking prone? If you are shooting off benches at the range that can be an issue. If it is from the prone position, that typically means you are not straight behind the rifle as you should be.

Re: TRG 22 Muzzle Brake

Sako trg brake does its job ,but also Pisses off the shooter next to you. Some say brakes on 308s are for wimps, but the trg 20" looks good with the brake. I had one on my Trg 22 20" just cause I liked the way it looked.

They are effective, and it looked pretty slick on Forwardeyes rifle. No problem with recoil at all, and I am a recoil wimp.

Re: TRG 22 Muzzle Brake

Doesn't matter if your a recoil wimp, or a recoil managing tank. If you want a break, get it. Yes, fundamentals first, but sometimes weird firing positions etc make it a little harder. And a break makes it very managable. Don't feel like you have to justify yourself to anyone. I don't use a break, but there have been times I kinda wished I had one. I have fired rifles with them and while I don't care about recoil I do have to say the amazing ease that it was to spot my own shots was pretty enjoyable.

The only thing is this- the blast is definitely noticeable for the shooter. It's the combination of the barrel length and the effectiveness of the brake. I suggest double hearing protection.
