It seems that Sako is sending TRG-22 rifles to USA with zero moa picatinny base. Is there a benefit using zero base over 20 or 25 moa base?

I have a TRG-22 with Near base, 25 moa as I recall. I have PR 5-25x56 mounted on it using Badger rings. I was hoping to buy another TRG-22 without base and install Near base on new rifle. That way I could move scope from one rifle to the other without to much trouble, at least I may not have to move the rings.

I am approximately 6.5 mil to 7.5 mil to 800 yards depending on conditions using a 100 yard zero.

So does anyone know why Sako now ships rifles with zero moa base?

most of their scope mounts bolt to the dove tail, but i have seen a version which bolts up to a picatinny rail, and their mounts have some moa built in to them, so thats why i would assume they would use a flat base.

I personally prefer 0-Moa bases, I have never ran into a problem of running out of elevation, however typically I never go past 1200yds with a .308. I like having the better Cheek-weld with the 0-moa bases, the glass seems slightly better(not sure why this would be), and my adjustments at ranges past 800 yds seem to be about 5% more accurate when using shooters ballistics programs. My experience is going from the TRG 3 ring Setup with built in 30moa to back to the 0-MOA rail that comes from the factory. Also using a Premier 3-15X50.
I would at least try out the 0-MOA base on the next rifle just to see if you experience mimics mine.

My TRG 42 in 300WM came with a 0MOA base. Wish I would have known otherwise I wouldn't have purchased a Badger 35MOA base. If you run a Horus style reticle 0MOA base should work out ok.
