trigers

Re: trigers

I personally like the Timney. Not that I don't like the others. Just that Timney has given me the best over all performance with zero problems. I order straight from Timney, and they have all been adjusted to my specs, with zero creep, and no over travel.

what do you plan on using the rifle for?

If you are going to hunt with it, I suggest a timney or remington old style trigger.

If you are just going to shoot long range and comps I suggest a Rifle Basix or Jewell.

Re: trigers

Jewells are an excellent trigger when kept in clean environments. No hunting, no dirty practical/tactical competitions, just sitting on a bench shooting out to the horizon.

Timneys are excellent triggers, I think that they're a higher quality product than the Rifle Basix triggers for several readily apparent reasons: Fit and finish on the parts being the most visually obvious.

The old type Rem 700 triggers are actually very good and if you can locate one they're an excellent trigger for everything short of the 1lb bench rest type triggers.

I have a Timney on my Mauser 30-06 and it works great. I have Rem 700 triggers on all of my Rem and Rem clone custom rifles. The Xmark can be turned into a really good trigger but usually this takes a good gunsmith. That costs money, which means that by the time you invested in the Timney you'd come out around even and have a higher quality assembly on your rifle.
