Trigger FOMO

I keep reading about how everyone around here loves the TriggerTech triggers. I have and am overall pretty happy with AR Gold and HiperFire Elipse/Competition triggers in my AR10/15 parts rifles. Am I missing out not having a TriggerTech? Y’all are giving me some serious FOMO.

If I were happy with the triggers that I had, I would not change to something that I had not tried. But, I would consider the ‘new shiny’ for a new build.

I have a Trigger Tech diamond and an AR Gold. Personally I like the wider trigger shoe on the TT, but trigger pull quality doesn't make me bias towards one over the other.

Thanks for the advise! Since the TT and ARG sound pretty close I’ll stick with what I have then ; lord knows I don’t need another excuse to build another rifle already.

Had a TT, sold it. It wasn’t a Diamond, maybe an Adjustable? Either way once I set it to where it would reset reliably, my $87 Larue MBT 2S Flat felt better. Kinda turned me off cassette triggers.

My 2 stage Centurion Arms trigger at $90ish aint too far from that particular TT I had.

The 24C or whatever they call it now is one of the fastest triggers out there, due in large part to it's strong reset force. I don't find it to have the crispest break around, especially compared to a TT Diamond or Calvin Elite, but it's great in a PCC where speed is king. I had a PDI for a while, it seems okay till you shoot it side by side with the 24C. Then it kinda seems like the Wish.com version.

Yeah and last time I saw, the flat shoe wasn’t in stock and had no backorder. Centurion was my second pick and its good. Not as good, but good enough for an HD rifle. Currently would not recommend the Centurion for a precision rifle.

TT has a weak trigger reset, almost feels like it's broken. Which is good for precision because you don't want much pressure trying to kick your finger forward after the shot. For rapid fire not so helpful.

I can actually picture in my head what your describing, thanks. I’ll get my hands on an SSA-E to compare it to the TT

Clarified by hlee and clarified in greater depth by KZP. You really have to hyper slap with your finger to go fast when you have to manually lift off the trigger, whereas any trigger with a strong reset pretty much does that step for you.

I've been a Hiperfire 24C/Reflex guy for a while now, and have been shooting more PCC than AR for the last couple of years, so I get it...

Once worn in, the top shelf Hiperfire's settle into ~2lbs with a great reset, but lately I've been wondering if the TT Diamond for AR is worth a try for a 20" AR I'm building to beat on out to ~1000yrds while my bolt gun cools off..?

Thinking it might be a hair lighter and more crispy for that kind of thing..?

I've been told I won't like it lol, but I love the TT Diamond in my bolt gun so...

I own and like both of them, but I think they're best utilized for entirely different purposes.
The TT seems like it's more than .5lb lighter than the 24C, and if you really pay attention while dryfiring you'll find a little creep in the 24C. Definitely no creep in the TT and the overtravel is short. I do like a 2 stage for precision also.
All that to say the TT Diamond is top of the food chain for precision AR stuff out of all the triggers I've tried.

big fan of eclipse setup. if you're running your rifle hard just make sure you have a drop-in backup. doesn't matter what everyone else is shooting if you like what you're running

I have a TT adaptable and the rest are SSA-E.

As others have said, the TT is a damn good feeling precision trigger. If it wasn't listed as a 2 stage, I'd call it a single stage.

I'm keeping a SSA-E in my hunting rifle.

I took a gamble on a Jard for a Howa/Bravo, and it is on the same level as the TT Diamonds I use now.

I think I'm sold on trying the TT AR Diamond but will stick with the Hiperfire's in my John-Wickish shredders because they're excellent at that.

I have not. I don’t go much below 2lbs on triggers. For me about 2-5lbs is where I like most of my triggers lighter side on precision, heavier when I’m moving around with the rifle.

I'm starting to feel like I'm going to have to be the Jard set trigger guinea pig around here...

I know the TT Diamond AR will be nice, so I'm going to get one, but the Jard I bought for my old Howa blew me away honestly... so I'll probably pick up a Jard too to try it out.

I probably wouldn't have tried a Jard if the aftermarket for Howa's wasn't so limited... but it really impressed me (and still impresses me since my buddy bought that old rifle), I expected it to be just "alright" and instead it was legit. They seem to be a little wonky in that you seem to have to buy direct-only... but might be worth the squeeze...

Edit: maybe I should let it be known that I'm a total trigger-snob... my CZs are filled with everything Cajun and CZC make, and my 1911's all have Gucci fire-control and hover ~1.5-2lbs proverbial-glass-rod, bolt-gun is TT Diamond ~10oz.. so yeah lol. Work guns still stay at '"work gun weight" though (and I can still shoot them).

What is your working gun weight? I don’t work with guns so it’s interesting to see someone else’s preferences who does.

If/when I get it together I'll definitely share my thoughts (not much out there currently it seems).

Working gun pull weight is usually whatever your agency tells you it is lol.

I'm on the private side now, so while there's (maybe) nothing in any of the work guns that'll get me in hot water in court if I ended up there, I'm still a trigger-snob and like my tools to perform how I want them to perform... but realistically, that means OEM or close to it.

I typically run a G17 with a Glock OEM minus connector, stock springs except for a slightly reduced power 15lb recoil spring on a SS rod, and there's currently a Hiperfire EDT Sharpshooter in my work carbine (~4.5lbs, far nicer than most GI/mil-spec type triggers, but not that different or radically different design-wise) because there are not many scenarios where I should need the thing (if I'm making a shot passed 25yards, it's a very bad day), so if I need it, I mean to hit what I aim at, and I've decided I'll take that chance defending using it in court if need be. (YMMV)
