Hi all,

Looking for an opinion on a trigger for an AR platform for mid range F class. I like the Geisselle National Match Match trigger but I'm wondering if a 3lb single stage trigger from other companies would be better for that type of shooting?

With any doubt, stick with the Geissele.

I have several Geissele triggers and they're fantastic. However, if you're looking for a 3lb single stage - I would go w/the Timney, outstanding trigger. BTW, I have 3 Timney triggers as well as, 1 JP trigger.

The JP is nice but, requires more work to set-up perfectly. The Timney is simply drop in, tighten the screws, perform standard function & safety checks and your done. All of my Timney break exactly @ 3lbs w/0 creep!

Re: Trigger for Long Range AR?

The Timney's I had broke over specs.
I got a 4 lb originally and it broke at 4.5 lbs.
I sent it back to Timney and they gave me a 3 lb version and even though it broke at 3.25 lbs it was very acceptable.
I do however use Geissele SSA-E for almost all of my builds now except for an occasional Hi-Speed Match for ultra precision builds.
BTW installing a Geissele vs a Timney is really no big deal~ both are not hard at all.

Re: Trigger for Long Range AR?

Thanks all for the responses I have been leaning towards the Geissele but didn't know if a single stage would be better as it is more like what a bolt gun would have.

Re: Trigger for Long Range AR?

For a two stage, Geissele..end of discussion IMO. Granted i've only used RRA's two stage trigger and my SSA-E. I see no reason to switch though if i'm in need of another AR trigger, it's that good. Hell i wish they would open two stage production for bolt rifles. For 200$ the SSA-E is hard to beat.

Re: Trigger for Long Range AR?

You might also want to look into the Geissele 3-gun triggers if you like the single stage feel. Both the standard and the Super Dynamic versions. They break like a single stage, and you have the reliability of a Geissele.

One trigger that is coming out in the near future is the Hiperfire HiperTouch 24SP drop-in trigger. It's a modular design that is easy to customize for pull weight. It's in the final stages of development and going to be going into testing, which I'm hoping to get involved with. Might be a future option if needed.

Just dont order from PACT..... Those guys just dont have their CS together at all.

Id go geissele if I were you.

Re: Trigger for Long Range AR?

Tomato Tomato......everyone has their flavor. My advice to you is try to shoot a gun with certain triggers in them and see what you like.

For single stage....JP makes a damn nice trigger also
