I posted the basic question in the Calvin Elite thread but didn't get an answer yet. After screwing around a bit today with it, I've narrowed it down a bit. I have a CE on a new Bighorn TL2 and it functioned fine for 15 rounds. After that I started having issues with the firing pin riding forward when closing the bolt. I thought it only did it when running the bolt hard and I noticed more creep than I had before. That night I took it apart and readjusted the sear engagement and set the poundage a tad higher than the factory settings. I thought maybe it was just wearing in and may have needed some fine tuning. Seemed to work. Then I was shooting today a bit and it was happening again. Messed with it some and came to find out that it only does it if the safety is not fully pushed to fire. It's not on safe, everything is fine when it's on safe. It will cycle and fire and all when pushed to fire, but if it slacks back just a hair the bolt will operate but the pin will not stay cocked. Do I need the longer U sear or is something out of adjustment here? I'm kinda out of ideas unless I'm completely bad at adjusting this thing.

Right away when I put this thing together I noticed that when you close the bolt and start to rotate the handle down it will sit slightly out to flush wight the shroud, once it is locked down all the way it will relax and sit slightly inside the shroud. Thought it odd but was told it was normal? I'm guessing not.

Normal so they say but my 510s had issues with the short sear engagements on a ptg Bolt Remington and a defiance deviant. For the 510 they make the "U" sear which is extended and let's it sit properly in the Remington clones. I went down to timney when they were first making the Calvin and they said they were working on a "U" type model for Remington clones but I don't know if they have done that yet. My issues were it would sit short and only lock if the muzzle was slightly canted forward. Vertical, tilted side to side or upside down it wouldn't even lock. I'd call them and ask to speak to one of the guys who install triggers and see if they have made the longer sear version.
