Gent's,

How do you guys run your bolt triggers? Oil? Grease? Dry? Other? I've been running a little Tetra Gun Grease on the contact surfaces of the trigger sear & firing pin on my bolt rifles. However, this weekend I decided to clean up the trigger sears & firing pins with some rubbing alcohol to get ready for some range time. Well, to my surprise, before I re-greased them I tried dry firing a few times...wow, they feel noticeably better (crisp & light) being dry than with lube.

Thoughts:confused:

Run'em dry. Actually, some Ronson lighter fluid and 100lbs of air pressure will serve your trigger well. Save the Tetra grease for the bolt shroud threads and a smidge on the bolt lugs. Go very light on the lugs.

^^^^^ this. I also use a dry, graphite based Molly lube in areas that metal contacts metal where i don't want grease/oil attracting spent powder dust, dirt, etc.
