Anyone tried one of these? A friend just picked one up last night and is going to play with it some. This scope looks to offer alot in the $1000.price range and clicks felt really well. Are we missing something here but I think this looks to be a nice setup for hunting

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

It was present on an FN AR at the demo I went to this week.

It was nothing special. The illumination was a non-starter. I much prefer a traditional illuminated reticle over the tiny point. We didn't do any tracking or any long range stuff with it.

The glass was clear enough in low light. For most of what I do 5x is too high on the low end of the magnification.

Gloworm, I'm with you bud. I can't find a good review on this thing. I am wanting to build a 16.5" LTR to run a can on and thought this scope would fit the bill but I think it may be lacking in elevation adjustment. Other than that , I can't find anything.

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

It is lacking in elevation adjustment. From what I have seen at retailers (notice there is no mention on Trijicon's site AFAIK), the elevation adjustment is a pretty terrible 37 MOA. Add that to the fact that it is only available as an MIL/MOA package makes this scope interesting for the future, but a non-starter as of now.

I also just ordered one of these but all the reviews I read said it had a 50 MOA adjustment.

Paid $893 shipped

If you don't mind me asking where did you order it from?

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

good glass, not a whole lot of elevation adjustment. If your planning to shoot 1000yds its probably not the scope for you. Other than that its a nice scope.

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

i like this scope, i've been playing with one since we got it here in the shot, and it would be a great lr scope, esp in low light. if yall have any specific questions just ask, all the specs are on our website if you want them.

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

The 5-20 Accupoint will get you to 700-800 with a 0 MOA base (depends on gun). I know first hand that the scope will get out to 1000yds with a 20 MOA base. Again, this wil depend on the gun. My friend has one mounted on his Remington 5R and he has a 20MOA base. With a 100yd zero he is able to get to 1000.

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

thanks man, if you ever take a pic outside post it. thats the best way to judge glass imho. The reticle looks nice though but yoru right I cant see any illumination.

Re: Trijicon AccuPoint 5-20x50

I looked through a 2.5-10x56 today and it seemed like a pretty nice piece of glass. I would say the glass was a little better than my older Nikon Tactical. If they would make the 5-20 with matching adjustments and reticle I would be a buyer to replace the Vortex Viper on my Prairie Dog Gun....
